Hi. You're looking for a band for your wedding. Well the Irish Weavers do a Traditional Irish style wedding with a strong Irish flavour. The show can be exclusively Irish: Ballad, Folk and Trad. or if requested old time, jive, rock 'n' roll and modern songs can be added in.

All details of the bands performance are talked over with the bride and groom well before the wedding day. Each couple have their own requirements.

One of the beauties of this band is that they cater for all age groups and nationalities on the night, from the Great Grandmothers right down to the nieces and the nephews!.

The Irish Weavers' song set includes - Fast Medleys (lots of fast Medleys) (eg. Tell Me Ma, Whiskey in the Jar and Rebel Sets if requested), - Irish Waltz Medleys (eg. Wild Rover, Streets of New York, Cockles and Mussels) - Slow Medleys (eg. Fields of Athenry, Sonny), - Jive and Rock 'N' Roll medleys if requested - Fast Irish Traditional music and 'Show off items' in between dances.

Irish Ceili group dances such as The Seige of Ennis and The Walls of Limerick are all done during the night and the moves can be called and demonstration given if necessary. Polkas Sets (polkas, slides and hornpipes) can all be provided for.

The band can back singers from the floor and any individual requests are catered for as discussed beforehand with the bride and groom like throwing the bouquet, the opening dance, who to call up to the stage to sing and so forth.

Instrumentation includes: vocals, fiddle, accordion, guitar, bass, mandolin, low flute, tin whistle spoons, natural whistling and bodhran.

There is a big focus on crowd participation and on getting people onto the floor dancing and involved.

Note: The volume of the amplification is not too loud and the band have no problem in accepting direction on the night about same.

The band on the Wedding Day is the item on which the success of the wedding reception hinges. The Irish Weavers recognise this and are very conscious of making the night an enjoyable and memorable one for you, your family and your friends.
